Zapier - Trigger: A member makes a payment
With Zapier, you can trigger an automation when a member makes a payment.
The structure of your Zap will look like this:
- Trigger: SchoolMaker: a member makes a payment
- Filter: To tell Zapier to continue only if certain conditions are met
- Action: Do the desired action
Step 1: Select the SchoolMaker app
Click on Trigger:
Then select the SchoolMaker app:
Note: Select the "SchoolMaker" app, not the SchoolMaker (Legacy) app.
Step 2: Select the "New Payment" event
Select the "New Payment" event and save.
Note that the zap will be triggered when there is either:
- a single payment
- a payment in instalments
- a subscription payment
Step 3: Connect your SchoolMaker school to Zapier (if you haven't already done so)
Click on "Sign In" in the "Account" field
Add the secret key then click on "Save"
The signing secret is available in your school by clicking on Settings > Integrations.
Step 4: Configure the action of your Zap
Configure the rest of your Zap according to the action you wish to perform.
Examples:
- Active Campaign: Add a member to a mail sequence
- Slack: Send a message to a channel
- Google Sheet: Add a row to a table
- ...
Step 5: Configure your filter
Click on the + between the trigger and the action to configure your filter.
Select "Filter by Zapier":
This filter will allow you to tell Zapier to continue only if certain conditions are met.
We're going to tell Zapier the name of the offer in which payment must be made for automation to be triggered.
In our example, the automation should continue if and only if:
- the offer name (select the "Offer Name" field)
- exactly matches
- to [name of your offer] (indicate here the name of the offer concerned)
Note that you can also replace field N°1 with:
- The member's email
- The offer ID
- The transaction date
- The transaction status (payment validated or payment failed)
- ...
In this case, you must then modify field N°3 with the condition to be met for field N°1.
