Make - Trigger: A Step is completed

With Make, you can trigger a scenario when a member completes a stage.

To do this, use the SchoolMaker Trigger: Watch School Events module.

Here are a few examples of possible scenarios:

• Add a tag to the contact in an emailing tool when he validates a step
• Add a member's email address in a table when he validates this step
• ...

The structure of your automation will look like this:

1. Trigger: SchoolMaker: a member validates a step
2. Filter: To tell Make to continue only if certain conditions are met
3. Action: Do the desired action

Step 1: Select the SchoolMaker module

After configuring the trigger in your scenario:

1. Click on "Add another module"
2. Select the "SchoolMaker" module

Note: Select the "SchoolMaker - verified" module, not the SchoolMaker (Legacy) module.

Step 2: Select "Watch School Events

Step 3: Connect your SchoolMaker school to Make (if you haven't already done so)

1. Click on "Create a connection"

2. Add the signing secret and click on "Save"

The signing secret is available in your school by clicking on Settings > Integrations.

Step 4: Configure your "Watch School Events" module

Select the "Step Completed" event and save.

Step 5: Configure the action

Configure the rest of your scenario according to the action you wish to perform.

Examples:

• Active Campaign: Add a tag to a contact
• SchoolMaker: Add a member to an offer
• Slack: Send a message in a channel
• ...

Step 6: Configure your filter

Click on the link between the trigger and the action to configure your filter.

This filter will allow you to tell Make to continue only if certain conditions are met.

We're going to tell Make the ID of the step that must be validated for the automation to be triggered.

In our example, automation must continue if and only if:

1. the step ID (select the "Step ID" field)
2. Equal to
3. to [Step ID] (enter the ID of the relevant step here)

Note that you can also replace field N°1 with:

• The name of the program
• The name of the lesson
• The percentage of student progress in the program
• The percentage of student progress in the relevant section
• ....

In this case, you must then modify field N°3 with the condition to be met for field N°1.
