Make - Trigger: A member makes a payment

With Make, you can trigger a scenario when a member makes a payment.

To do this, you need to use the SchoolMaker Trigger: Watch School Events module.

The structure of your automation will look like this:

  1. Trigger: SchoolMaker: a member makes a payment
  2. Filter: To tell Make to continue only if certain conditions are met
  3. Action: Perform the desired action

Step 1: Select the SchoolMaker module

After configuring the trigger in your scenario:

  1. Click on "Add another module"
  2. Select the "SchoolMaker" module

Note: Select the "SchoolMaker - verified" module, not the SchoolMaker (Legacy) module.

Step 2: Select "Watch School Events

Step 3: Connect your SchoolMaker school to Make (if you haven't already done so)

  1. Click on "Create a connection"

  1. Add the signing secret and click on "Save"

The signing secret is available in your school by clicking on Settings > Integrations.

Step 4: Configure your "Watch School Events" module

Select the "New Payment" event and save.

Note that the scenario will be triggered when there is either:

  • a single payment
  • a payment in instalments
  • a subscription payment

Step 5: Configure the action

Configure the rest of your scenario according to the action you wish to perform.

Examples:

  • Active Campaign: Add a member to an email sequence
  • Google Sheet: Add a row to a table
  • Slack: Send a message to a channel
  • ...

Step 6: Configure your filter

Click on the link between the trigger and the action to configure your filter.

This filter will allow you to tell Make to continue only if certain conditions are met.

In the following example, we'll tell Make the name of the offer in which the payment must be made for the automation to be triggered.

In our example, the automation should continue if and only if:

  1. the offer name (select the "Offer Name" field)
  2. Equals to
  3. to [name of your offer] (enter the name of the offer concerned here)
