Zapier: Make an action when a member has validated a step
In this article, we'll see how to make an action when a member has validated a step.
Here are a few examples:
- Add a tag to a contact in an emailing app when he has validated a step
- Add a member's email address to a table when he has validated a step
- ...
Your Zap will look like this:
- Trigger: SchoolMaker: a member validates a step
- Filter: To tell Zapier to continue only if certain conditions are met
- Action: Do the desired action
In the following example, we want to add a tag to the contact in Active Campaign when he has validated a step.
Step 1: Configure the trigger
Select the "SchoolMaker" app as trigger, then select the event "Step Completed".
Then select your SchoolMaker account.
Step 2: Configure the filter
Add a filter "Only continue if..." after the trigger.
This step tells Zapier to continue the Zap
only if certain conditions are met.
In our example, the Zap must continue only if:
- the step name (select the "Step Name" field)
- exactly matches
- to [Step Name] (enter the name of the relevant step here)
Note that you can also replace field N°1 with:
- Program name
- Lesson name
- Member's percentage progress in the program
- Member's percentage progress in the relevant section
- ....
In this case, you must then modify field N°3 with the condition to be met for field N°1.
Step 3: Configure the action
Select the Active Campaign app as the action for your Zap.
Then choose the event "Add/Remove Tag From Contact".
Select your Active Campaign account, then configure the desired action:
- Select the "Email" variable in the "Contact ID" field
- Select the relevant tag in the "Existing Tags" field if this tag already exists
- Write the relevant tag in the "Tags" field if this tag does not yet exist
Step 4: Save your Zap
Save your Zap and make a test.
When a member completes this step, a tag will be added to the contact in your emailing app.
